NQ 500 by NQ Environmental, Inc.
NQ500 - Air Treatment System - Patented engineered solutions to airborne infection control and compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
* Complete mixing pattern created as a 6 ft.6 inch high unit sends clean air to the upper part of the room, forcing heavier particles and droplet nuclei down away from breathing zone and into unit's inlet * HEPA filtration removes 99.97 percent of organisms that are 0.3 microns or larger * Circulates air into self-contained bactericidal and virucidal ultraviolet radiation chamber. Three 36. UV lamps provide a full backup to the HEPA media and ensure that the interior of the unit remains bacteria-free * Mobile or wall mounted models available
* Carbon model (NQ500-C), with a unique activated carbon cell system that has one of the lowest static pressure drops in the industry, is also available for effective odor and chemical removal.

WHAT MAKES THE NQ 500 UNIQUE?
There are many qualities and features of the NQ 500 that enable it to stand apart from
its competition. These include:
o The patented height of the system: The NQ 500 has a 6'6" separation
between the air-supply and return. Air is exhausted from the NQ 500 at a 45-
degree angle across the ceiling, keeping this "clean" air separated from the
existing room air. The clean air from the top of the room then pushes the "dirty"
air down to the bottom of the unit, where the intake vent captures it for
processing. This height is essential for the effectiveness of the unit. If the air
supply/return are located near each other, the air may be "short-circuited" (clean
air immediately being drawn back into the unit) and can create terrible air-mixing
patterns.
o The use of three, 36" UVGI lamps: These UV lamps provide a full backup to
the unit's HEPA media and ensure both the interior of the unit and the filtered air
remain bacteria-free. UVGI is an essential component of this air treatment
system as it is well documented as being able to destroy a wide range of
airborne pathogens.
o The HEPA filter and its location: HEPA filters are used for removing airborne
pathogens, microorganisms and particles at very high efficiencies (99.97% on
particles of 0.3 microns and larger). The location of the HEPA filter on the NQ
500 is extremely important. Competitor's models that have filters placed in the
front of the unit are exposed, opening the possibility of damage and therefore
compromising the integrity of the HEPA.
o Low consumable replacement costs: The most expensive replacement costs
for any similar indoor air quality system is the HEPA filter, due largely to their
technical manufacturing process. Under continuous use, HEPA filters are
required to be changed annually. The NQ 500's UVGI option and use of prefilters
enable the NQE HEPA filter to last about 3 years! This UVGI keeps the interior
of the unit sterile and prevents bacteria growth on the underside of the HEPA.
Without this radiation, HEPA filters may become hazardous biological waste and
are therefore difficult to both handle and dispose of. The use of these lights and
prefilters drastically improve the efficiency of the unit by enabling it to have the
lowest consumable replacement costs on the market.
o The noise level: Rated at 55 dBA, the NQ 500 is still the quietest unit on the
market.
Please refer to Appendix One for Health Canada documents stressing the importance
of using proper air flow, HEPA filtration, and UV lighting as tools for fighting airborne
Illustrations:
Top of unit is available with full louvers for complete recirculation, or with a 10. (25.5 cm) duct connection to create negative pressure and louvers for partial air recirculation.
The NQ500-C (see bottom left) has two 22" cylinders, holding a total of 60 lbs. of activated carbon, instead of the UVGI lamps, adding 60 lbs. to the weight of the unit. A 90-95% ASHRAE filter may be substituted for the HEPA filter (in non-medical applications), increasing airflow and air changes per hour (ACH).
